Smokvica is a little place on the southern part of the island Pag. Placed next to the sea. To the island Pag you can come from two directions. With the ferry service Prizna-Žigljen or accross the Pag bridge on the southern side of island.
From Zagreb direction you have to exit from the highway Zagreb-Split on interchange Žuta Lokva and then drive accross Senj until the ferry Prizna-Žigljen. When you are on the island Pag just follow the main road (number 106) with a car. In town Pag you have to drive to the village Stara Vas, and after the village turn right in Smokvica and Vlašić direction. A few miles after driving on the local road (number 6005) in front of village Vlašići, on the first crossroad turn right towards Smokvica direction.
From Rijeka direction you have to drive on Adriatic motorway. Again there is a connection with the island Pag, Prizna-Žigljen ferry, and from a southern side you can come by crossing Pag bridge.
From Split direction you have to take highway and get off on Posedarje exit, and then accross Pag bridge.
During summer-time (30th may - 30th september) “Jadrolinija” ferries are sailing 13 times per a day in both directions (from 5:30 until 22:30).
From central and southern Italy you can come with ferry sailing on relation Ancona-Zadar throughout the whole year, and then further on accross the Pag bridge until Smokvica.
On a daily bases is a fast catamaran service connecting Novalja with Rijeka, Rab, Lošinj and during summer-time with Ilovik, Susak and Silba.
Italian company SNAV has a fast catamaran connection between Italy and Zadar during summer. Zadar is distanced from Smokvica only 47 km and you have frequent daily-bases buses connecting Zadar with island Pag.
Company “Rab-sailing” is connecting with the ship, throughout the whole year Lun and Jakišnica with the island Rab which is not so far away from Novalja and that is particularly suitable for one-day trips.
All larger places on island Pag are connected with bus lines with almost every Croatian region (Zagreb, Rijeka, Zadar, Split, Varaždin, Osijek…). Place Smokvica has bus lines three times a day with mini-bus which are connecting other parts of this island.
The nearest international airport is Zadar airport in Zemunik and it is only 47km far away from Smokvica. Zadar airport is connected with many European cities, and Zagreb airport has even more connections with other bigger cities.
